My dear friends,
I hope that you are well by the grace of God!
In our gospel reading today, Jesus heals a leper. We see both the divine power and the divine compassion of Jesus in this act of healing. We thank God, for his infinite compassion! We thank God, for Christ his Son, who came and dwelt amongst us and allowed us to experience God’s infinite mercy. Only the mercy of God can save us from our sin. But we can only receive it when we ask for it. Notice, the leper asked Jesus for mercy : “If you wish, you can make me clean.” This should be our approach as well, whenever we fall into the grip of sin. it is a mistake to commit sin and separate ourselves from God. But it is a bigger mistake to remain that way, when we can repent and ask God for his mercy.

We have kicked off the “Children Are Our Future fundraiser” for our Sr. Thea Bowman School. Our goal is to raise $30,000 by the end of July. It is an achievable target and I am confident that our supportive community will help us go beyond that goal. Last Sunday information about this fundraiser was shared after Mass. Please take a handout if you would like to learn more about this fundraiser. When you donate please write “Children are our future” in the memo of your check. You may also go to the school’s website and donate online and even read info about this fundraiser.( https://www.theabowmanschool.com/ )
Please note that this fundraiser has nothing to do with the annual Draw Down. These are 2 separate events with different goals and intentions. I am truly grateful for the support of our community.
